Project: ?Studies on flow of Polymeric liquids along an inclined surface?-----Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Hemant V. Joshi and Co-guide ?Dr. Ashish Orpe (CEPD, NCL) Objective of choosing the project was to get a knowhow of the applications of state of the art, simulation softwares in R&D in the current polymer industry. ABSTRACT: Extensive research has been conducted on the flow of homogenous thin films on inclined planes. Fluid flow plays an important role in the dynamics of variety of applications such as food processing to blood flow, vapor-liquid slurries and surface coating. As the liquid flows down the plane, the flow front develops wavelike instabilities called finger rings at a particular flow length. Our goal was to understand the phenomenon of propagation of a fixed volume film down an inclined plane and to understand the factors governing finger ring formation. Depending on the type of application these instabilities may be desirable or undesirable. System used is aqueous PVOH (Polyvinyl alcohol). Extra-curricular: Attended the International Conference on Advancements in Polymeric Materials (APM 2014) on February 14 - 16, 2014 at CIPET LARPM, Bhubaneswar and APM 2013 held at CIPET, Lucknow Member of the Organizing committee of the Departmental technical event- Affinity & Confluence?11and Affinity & Confluence?10. Participated in Euphoria ?10 & Udhaan?11(MIT cultural fest) Member of the MIT Astronomy club Participated in Inter-Departmental Basketball and carrom tournament. Future Goals: To gain knowledge from all the fields and to serve an organization of repute, with Intelligence, Integrity & Involvement, where I can utilize my engineering knowledge in order to keep up to the organization?s objectives, whilst accomplishing the career dream of becoming an authority in the chosen specialization of work. ________________________________________________________________________________________
