Blends of PP/TPO nanocomposites are prepared using melt blending in a Twin Screw Extruder. PP-g-Maleic anhydride is used as compatibiliser. Melt blending of PP and TPO of different composition of TPO (10%, 15% and 20%) having each blend varying nanoclay (Cloisite 20A) composition of 3%, 5%, 7% are prepared with 5% PP-g-MA. The extrudate is pelletized and fed in to blown film extruder and films are produced. Both Mechanical and Barrier Properties of films are evaluated. (Mechanical Engineering) Project Title: Design and Development of New Jaw for Bore Grinding Machine Company: Ashok Leyland Project Description: The productivity of the bore-grinding machine is improved, by implementing the SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) concept. SMED concept is one of the lean manufacturing methods, in which the changeover time in a machine, is reduced so as to increase their productivity. The project work involved design of new jaws using PRO-E for a bore grinding machine, in order to eliminate the changeover of jaws in between its operations, as well as to reduce the machine idle time.
