Project title: 

PP-CP blend with Nylon for automotive application

Summary: We produced compatibilized blend of nylon 6 (N6) (Grade-Gujlon E35) and polypropylene copolymer (PPCP)(Reliance, Grade ?Repol B120MA) using maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene copolymer as a third component.?

The effective use of the reactive extrusion process was seen in the formation of PPCP-graft MA having different concentration of MA. 

FTIR and MFI gave clear indication of the grafting. 

An optimum composition of compatibilizer was chosen for compatibilization of PPCP-Ny blends. 

PPCP-graft MA was used at different levels ranging from 5% to 30% as it acts ?not only as good compatibilizer but also as impact modifier.
