Project Details: 

Title Synthesis and Characterization of Trimethine and Pentamethine Cyanine Dyes using 2,3,3-Trimethylindolenine



Duration : September 2016 ? March 2017 (seven months)



Description The project reports the synthesis of symmetrical trimethine and pentamethine cyanine dyes using 2,3,3-trimethylindolenine. The resulting conjugates were obtained in high yields and displayed high chemical, thermal and photo stability



Technology The synthesized compounds were successfully characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The optical properties of

compounds were studied by UV-Visible and Fluorescence spectroscopy. Thermal stability was studied by TGA and DTA analysis.



Advantages Wide applications as photographic sensitizers, in medicinal application, industrial paints, laser materials, solar cells, antitumor agents and in many other biological applications
