Structural integrity assessment of nuclear plant the most important is to asses the maximum load bearing capacity of mechanical components and structural part. It is a simple but convenient crack growth model for ductile material in terms of Critical Fracture Energy (Gfr ) which was proposed by Marie and Chapuliot of CEA ,France. According to their proposition Gfr is a material property and ductile crack growth can be modeled by this fracture parameter along with J integral. For elastic-plastic material, J integral is taken as the main crack driving force and are used for the design of components. J integral can be calculated using FEA but that needs expertise and time. J integral has been calculated using FEM and used to calculatech. WARP3D package is used for the non-linear FE analysis. Due to symmetry about the crack plane and the vertical plane a quarter portion has been taken for the analysis. Giving triangular load at the end face simulates pure bending. 20 noded 3D Solid Brick elements are used for the analysis. Material of the elbow is assumed to follow Romberg-Osgood relation. Domain integration technique has been used to calculate J integral.
