Handling of the different machineries for polyurethane foam. Development of process for the product from lab scale to the plant level. Handling the ISO 9001:2000 certification documentation and management. Project Detail Industrial Project (M.Tech) Duration: - 2 years Handled industrial project for ESDEE Paints Ltd, Mumbai. Developed the polyurethane dispersions for the automotive refinishes and clear coats. Polyurethane Dispersions (M.Tech Project) The main aim of the project is to synthesis waterborne polyurethane dispersions for the automotive refinishes and clear coats. The system includes synthesis of the polyester polyols and polyurethane dispersions of that. To provide high performance properties nano fillers are used. In the project, the polyester polyols have been synthesized with varying hydroxyl value. The polyester polyols were then characterized for acid value, hydroxyl value, FTIR. These polyols were then reacted with isocyanate i.e. IPDI with varying NCO ratio. The DMPA content, which was used to improve the water dispersability, was varied with various percentages. The polyurethane dispersions were synthesized and characterized with particle size, FTIR, DSC, TGA, Freeze-thaw stability, NCO content. The coatings from the polyurethane dispersions were tested for the mechanical tests like impact resistance, bending test, hardness, scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, and chip resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, water resistance, weathering properties, corrosion resistance. Future Goals: Working on the managerial positions and taking the good experience and learning the things as much as possible. ________________________________________________________________________________________
