Amman Woven sacks Limited, HDPE/ PP Woven Sacks Manufacturing Unit, Pondicherry.

Growth Path: Established the unit along with my friend and was heading the Complete Operations of the Factory.

Job Role: 

Unit Head responsible for

Production, Planning and Control, Quality Assurance,	Govt. Liaisoning, Machinery Maintenance, Procurement, Team Management, Logistics, Customer Service.

Key Highlights: 

Successfully completed the implementation of the project right from civil construction to commercial production, including getting all government approvals/ registrations.

Converted the extrusion line to T Die process with increased output & balanced other machineries.

Managed technical aspects of converting another sick flat fabric manufacturing unit to a circular woven sack unit including modernisation/ balancing of machineries.

Successfully completed doubling the capacity of both units.

Developed an export niche product-PP Jumbo Bags in 1999, within available infrastructure (the only one in the world) & exported product to countries like USA, Europe, South America & Australia

One among the very few companies operated within 3% overall wastage right from raw material to end product.

Introduced the concept of Machine Setting and Maintenance by the operators themselves ? to avoid dependence on machine setters/ jobbers. 

One among the few industries to change from raw material - HDPE to PP for the manufacture, during early 1990?s

First to obtain ISO 9001:2000 certification for the design and manufacture of PP woven sacks/ Jumbo bags in India.

Developed full design of 2 diesel engines of capacity 5 HP and 7.5 HP, with a process of manufacture to suit available machineries.

Complete design for fitment of SI engines in cycle rickshaw.

Standardized the product of manufacturing to metric system ? for ease of procurement / cost saving.

Developed IC engine with running in Diesel / Kerosene with starting in Petrol and presented a paper on this in The National Conference of IC engines

Taken additional charge for Quality Audit.

Got promoted as Senior Engineer in the company within a short period of time.
