Title: Cycle Time Reduction in Rotational Moulding Process.

Supervisor: Dr. Suresh P. Deshmukh

Description: Rotational moulding has become one of the most important polymer processing methods for producing hollow plastic articles. However, the long cycle time required by the rotational moulding process has confounded the overall success of this technology. Molds with extended surfaces (fins) have the potential to enhance heat transfer by increasing surface area. This study aims to examine the effects of enhanced fins on the heating/cooling efficiency of rotational moulding and on moulded product qualities. For this Study a laboratory-scale biaxial rotational moulding machine is designed, fabricates and assembled.



B. Tech Project: 

Topic: Study on Synthesis of Inorganic nano CaCO3 and their Effect on Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Polyacrylate.

Supervisor: Prof. Dr. S. Mishra

Description: A polymer nanocomposite, particularly polyacrylates-CaCO3 nanocomposites, represents an emerging trend in specialty plastic materials. This study deals with synthesis of nano CaCO3 with the help of ?in-situ Deposition technique?. The PMMA is synthesized by bulk polymerization technique and during polymerization the nano-CaCo3 was added in various percentage and study mechanical and thermal properties of PMMA-CaCO3 nanocomposites. 



Team Size: 3 members

Industrial Exposure:  In-plant Training at Garware Wall Ropes LTD., Chinchwad, Pune, for Two months. During training period worked in extrusion, rope making and net making departments.
