Final Year Project:-

Production Of SMO (Sorbitan Monooleate):- SMO is manufactured by using raw materials sorbitol and oleic acid. It is a batch and an endothermic process. Temperature required is approximately around 2450c. The entire process is completed within 15-16 hours. Product SMO is obtained along with water as a byproduct. Oil heating is preferred and for cooling purpose water is used. The product mostly used as an emulsifier ,food stabilizer, softening agent/finishing agent, lubricant , inhibitor, polymerization agent, dispersing agent, antistatic agent etc. It is mostly used in pharmaceutical, food, textile, paint, cosmetics, detergents, petroleum industries etc.
