Project Work:

The aim of this work, with in the frame work of polymer recycling is to upgrade waste from electrical and electronic waste equipments. Blend of two major residues are prepared via a melt blending process. These are ABS consisting of a SAN thermoplastic matrix and PVC. The effect of partial miscibility and previous degradation levels was investigated. Mechanical characterization of ABS/PVC system is carried out to determine the optimum composition range. Previous degradation levels of two wastes are investigated by FTIR.

Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) test, using test method ASTM D2863-09.

Smoke density test, using test method ASTM D2843-99 (2004).

Rate of burning test, using test method ASTM D635-06 & ASTM D1433-77.

Mechanical equipments like UTM, Impact tester, Motorized Notch cutter, Hardness tester
