Roles & Responsibilities
• Designs thermoplastic injection molds to produce parts in accordance with company manufacturing standards and customer product requirements,
• Decide parting line, runner and gate selection, select proper mould cooling and ejection types, decide mould base size based on injection moulding machine,
• Works closely with Tool Engineers and the tool room staff to ensure proper design for ease of maintenance and workability,
• Electrode design and creation of position drawings for machining,
• Studies blueprints, determine machining operations necessary and determines the proper sequence of operations,
• Co-Ordinate with Tool room, Engineering, molding & Quality department to ensure and prove the mould design/built.
• Fits and assembles component parts into mould cavities and verifies dimensions, alignment, and clearance.
• Responsibility to solve any problem in the mold during the trial or during the breakdown.
• Ability to operate precision measurement devices.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability.
• Lean experience: Flow / Pull, 5S or Continuous Improvement.
