? First project was in London in 1986 for the expansion of injection molding plant with ten 75 tons machines. Here complete fabrication of shed, concrete foundation of machines, installation of utilities and the ten machines , their successful trial with internal & external quality approval and full capacity utilization in record time. For this project the main machineries were sourced by myself from Germany and I received the training also.
? Second project in 1988 in India for PIL(Prakash) and got one month training in Singapore , later visited S .Korea and Japan(for technical up gradation and new technologies) .Complete installation , commissioning , trial production with customer satisfaction report to full capacity utilization in record 35 days.
? Third project in 1992 for the recovery of the solvents used in manufacturing of magnetic tapes coating. Complete project built up procurement of plant equipments/online testing instruments and their inspection by me. For this I travelled to almost all major cities in India and conducted meeting with USA and Japanese suppliers of activated carbon.
? Fourth project in 1995 of steel melting shop , MRK(melt refining converter) , Ladle Refining Furnace and continuous casting of liquid steel to billets on Swiss machine , the commissioning work started after my joining with trial production to 70% capacity utilization just in 10 days as billets successful trail was done on the company’s own rolling mill in Silvassa. For this project I travelled with in Gujarat. Later handled the 12 stands steel rolling mill from billets to be heated in oil fired furnace then rolled in completely automatic machine shaped through from each stand to the next stand finally the finished product as medium sized structured steel. The complete project was sourced from the domestic sources and I travelled to various parts of Punjab , Maharshtra …..Unfortunately before installation of this project I changed the job.
? Fifth project in 1996 was in Polycab for the creation of test house in two locations for raw materials and finished wires & cables testing and after completing this area I was deputed to the project of development of quality management system as company was not having the adequate mechanism for the same and nominated as Sr. MR or Head Quality System .To accomplish this a formal documented system was created based on zero error and contained failure rates , high standards of raw materials verified by the inspectors and International quality product. Short listed UL out of 11 certifying bodies with consent of all Heads and the management and got 3 units certified in record six months .For this I had to travel to Banglore. Trained more than 500 persons of various cadres.
? Sixth project in 1989 myself as Head EDP, was conceived with client-server technology based Manufacturing Software with a team of 10 developers on job work basis and later created own team to absorb this technology and later trained the actual user. The backbone of this software was the quality system created by me therefore easily adapted by the actual users as they were already trained on the documented system. The softer used to be tested on offline data and only after zero error it was fed with online data by the EDP and team upon my final approval .Procurement of all licensed software, Server computers , PC’s for the end users (more than 200 PC’s) and installed with required training, with regular up gradation all machines and required software. Linked up 3 units, warehouses, Mumbai marketing base with leased line on optical fiber ensuring fool proof planning , just in time deliveries .In 2002 I was shifted to the Mumbai H.O. for the profile of Head Procurement based on my procurement skills in past 5+ years.
? As Head Procurement I widely travelled many places in Europe , USA , China ( 6 Times) and all over India and had regular meeting with the representatives of these suppliers.
? Seventh project in early 2008 was in again for Polycab but at Halol, Gujarat . This was for the manufacturing of galvanized steel wires and strips required for cables armoring(protection) with the installed capacity of 5000 tons per month. Complete sourcing of main plant machineries such as rod break down machines , wire drawing machines ,wire to strip rolling stands , lead bath , galvanization dip equipment and basket take-offs with a team of 10 persons and all other on contract basis. The same plant was installed , commissioned, went under trial production with since the product was for in house use , got lab certified as per domestic and International specifications , to full capacity utilization in record time of less than 7 months ,this includes erecting of shed.Also carried out the procurement of all raw materials required.
? Also studied the various pharmaceutical project such as on sugar controlling drugs and bulk drugs , floppies and compact disk , FMCG products , Packaging, Transformer Manufacturing(in Thailand) ……..
? In short I would like to mention that I am a well travelled person in nieche sourcing locations with the much larger scope than the direct process industries mentioned above and possess high confidence , expertise, experience(now more than 27 years) with the keen learning approach and development/training/motivating my team to achieve the highest standards of Goals, which would be visible not only on your company’s financials but also in the increased Goodwill in the markets.
Heading The Operations For Any Process Industry:
The major experience of heading the operations comes from PIL which I have detailed in the later part of this resume. Here I would like only mention that from 1988 till 1995, I handled all the functions of plant as a techno commercial head which includes laisioning with several Indian Government authorities at city, district, state, and, ministry level. Possess a significant qualification of administration of more than 400 persons.
