Academic Projects
Project Title:
Phenolic resins have been used as a major component of solvent borne contact adhesives for many years. The project addressed the performance advantages that phenolic resins impart and highlight the impact on neoprene adhesives. The study includes commonly described physical properties of phenolic resins and what these different properties mean to the neoprene adhesive manufacturer. The study included effect of various solvent blends on rate of bond development. Further the interaction of adhesive with different substrates was also analyzed in order to determine the scope of the adhesive prepared. The evaluation was done on the basis of open time, peel strength, viscosity.
