SolidWorks (3D)
AutoCAD (2D)
Autodesk Moldflow
ANSYS (structural)
Mathcad
Certified CFD trained professional. Worked on Gambit and Fluent.
Member of ASME – American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Project Engineer
Since May 2010
Company Profile: Leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic bearing solutions.
Job Profile:
Designed polymer bearings, bushes, pulleys and rollers for ATMs, automotive and medical equipment.
Involved in various aspects of the project lifecycle – choice of materials, costing, design and reviews leading to manufacturing.
Worked on projects for customers based in Korea, US, Europe and China.
Held technical discussions for India-based enquiries and conducted customer visits.
R&D Engineer
Carried out successful testing of polymer bearing samples to analyse wear from the bearing raceways..
Devised methods and carried out tests to determine the run out on existing BNL plastic shafts.
Determining suitable material choices for the shaft based on the application.
Thermal analysis of heat generation in a polymer bearing using a thermal imaging camera to analyse the maximum heated part of the bearing.
Incorporated temperature models to gauge temperature limits of BNL’s bearings in applications.
Designed simple jigs/fixtures to suit the testing needs.
Carried out simple maintenance/repair activities of the test rigs. Also involved
use of milling machine and lathe.
Trainee Engineer
July 2008 - December 2009
Company Profile: A leading company providing steam engineering and control instrumentation solutions for the process industry.
Job Profile:
Graduate trainee engineer in the Valves division.
Studied the design of competitor products and compared them with existing designs.
Analyzed the detailed working and application of control instrumentation products such as control valves, desuperheaters, pressure reducing stations, safety and safety relief valves.
Provided technical expertise to branch sales persons and coordinated techno-commercial activities with them.
Part-Time Project
February 2009 to April 2009 - CFD Analysis of a safety relief valve at Seed Infotech.
This project involved the CFD analysis of the disc inside the safety relief valve.
The contoured design of the disc was improvised to study the implications on the effectiveness of the valve.
Analytical results plotted using FLUENT 6.2.3 showed a reduction of forces on the disc as per the improvised design by a margin of 5-10% compared to the existing design.
Was awarded a certificate in Computational Fluid Dynamics.
To grow on a holistic level as an engineer in a dynamic organization.
