Mini Project: monitoring and improving the oxidation stability of Bio diesel blends using rancimat method Addition of synthetic antioxidants is an effective way to increase the initial oxidation stability of Bio diesel. Bio fuel technology has become increasingly important to the relationship between the raising demand for new sources of energy and the growing attention of both government agencies and ecological non-governmental organisation due to increase of environment protection consciousness and decrease of petroleum reserves.
Main Project: Experimental Analysis On Oxidation Behavior Of TiO2 Doped Diesel Bio diesel Fuel Blends And It’s Effect On Performance Characteristics Of CI Engine.
Vegetables oil and their esters undergo oxidation and generate more quickly than mineral diesel. The unsaturated fatty acids present in vegetables oils are susceptible to oxidation. Oxidation of the esters during the long-term storage can lead to problems in the utilization of Bio diesel in the engine and can lead to rough engine operation. Contact with ambient air, exposure to sunlight, metals, and exposure to high temperature conditions accelerate the oxidation reactions leading to lower oxidation stability of Bio diesel.
