Project Title: Investigation on adhesive and matrix resin properties of polyethersulphonetoughened epoxy resins
Duration: 3 months
Description: Polyethersulphone toughened epoxy blends were processed with varying concentrations of toughening agent and its thermal, mechanical, adhesive and thermo mechanical properties were studied.PES can successfully replace conventional rubber toughening agents without compromising the unique structural properties of epoxies.

Project Title: Synthesis of nano zinc oxide and its Industrial Application
Duration: One year
Description: Nano scale zinc oxide was synthesized by precipitation method using zinc nitrate, hexa hydrate and sodium hydroxide. The synthesized zinc oxide was characterized by BET adsorption and XRD.The performance of this synthesized nano zinc oxide as an activator in natural rubber compound and as a curing agent in chloroprene rubber compound was investigated. The cure, mechanical, ageing and thermal and dynamic   mechanical properties of the compound having nano zinc oxide and commercial zinc oxide were studied in details.Application of prepared nano zinc oxide in tyre tread compound and v belt compound were also studied.
