Project Profile:
The main objective of my project work is to use a newly developing technique called Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization(ATRP) as a route to synthesize an amphiphillic poly(styrene)-block-poly(acrylic acid) copolymer. ATRP technique provides good control over the molecular weight and copolymer compositions.
The poly (styrene)-block-poly (acrylic acid) copolymer can be used in drug delivery systems, cosmetic compositions and in paints and coatings industries. The synthesized Polymers were characterized by 1H NMR, FTIR and GPC.
