Academic Project (B.Tech.):
Title: Development and Characterization of Corrosion Resistant Coatings for steel reinforcement in cement and polymer concrete.
(Awarded as the best project in the college)

Project Profile:
Epoxy based corrosion resistant coating system was developed by incorporating various weight percentages of fumed silica with epoxy resins. The coating system was applied on to steel reinforcement bars used in concrete. steel reinforced cement concrete (SRCC) and steel reinforced polymer concrete (SRPC) samples were made using coated steel bars. The corrosion resistant performance of the coatings was studied with respect to silica content in the resin.
