TITLE: “Biodegradable PLA Hybrid Nanocomposites: The effects of Fibers
and Clay treatment on the properties of biocomposites.”
Abstract: Biocomposites is a movement that has gained the global attention over the past few years. The growing environmental awareness and economical factors are forcing the industries, researches and scientist to seek more ecologically friendly materials. PLA/Banana Fiber (BF)/CLAY is a ‘Hybried Nanocomposites’, Eco-friendly, having the functional capability to substitute hazardous synthetic fibers, with several advantages like- Environmental Aspects, Biological Aspects, Production Aspects, Component Weight Issues, Financial Aspects, specific strength and modulus aspect, and low density. The presently market for biocomposites are in the construction, packaging and automotive sectors however, new opportunities and applications will likely arise. Aim of my work is treatment of fiber, fabrication to composites, find out the effect of Natural Fiber (Banana Fiber) and Clay (C30B, 20A) loading on the properties of biocomposites such as mechanical, thermal, morphological properties and biodegradation of composites.
