It is a process of balancing rotating masses by adding a additional mass to the system at desired position, so that centrifugal force due to rotating masses does not produce an un balanced force on the rotating system. The unbalance may lead bending of shaft and finally leads to failure of the system. It finds application in various fields such as in balancing of axles of vehicles. Blades of wind mills, turbines, shafts in machines etc.
