Project/Research Topic
M.Tech.:“Study of  Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(urethanamide) Resin from Renewable Raw Materials and Its Application.”
(Research Supervisor: Dr. V.V. Shertukade)

Summary: Number of fatty amide polyol has been developed using various vegetables oils and not from moringa oleifera seed oil. The project  representing area of application of moriga oil for polymeric resin. Initially, oil was modified by epoxidation and subsequently epoxy ring was hydrolyzed. The resulting polyol was reacted with diethanolamine to form corresponding fatty amide polyol. This fatty amide polyol was reacted with 2, 4-toulene diisocyanate, isophorone diisocyanate, hexamethylene disocyanate at NCO to OH ratio 0.75:1 and 1:1. The poly(urethaneamide) film were evaluated for chemical resistance, corrosion resistance, mechanical properties (gloss, cross cut adhesion, flexibility, impact test, hardness test) and thermogravimetric analysis of poly(urethanamide) film were studied. Epoxidised moringa oleifera seed oil and polyol were characterized by FTIR and physic-chemical analysis. Fatty amide polyol was characterized by FTIR, 1 HNMR and physico-chemical analysis.

B.Tech.: “Manufacturing of Composite Leaf-spring for Light Weight Vehicles using Epoxy resin and E-glass fiber.” (Project Supervisor: Dr. S.M. Wagh)
