Project: Conversion of Waste Plastic into fuel
Location : Dehardun
Institution:University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Duration: 40 weeks
Guide: Mr. G. Sanjay Kumar Asst. Prof. (SG), Department of Chemical Engineering, UPES
Description: Conversion of waste plastics (polymer) to fuel can be achieved by thermal cracking. Considering the previous researches over the topic, our team tried to replicate the process on small scale, accordingly calibrated the batch reactor to make an effort for clean environment.
Conclusion: The small scale modeling was successful and was able to produce fuel.
Industrial Training
Company: TATA Chemicals Ltd. Location: Haldia, WB
Plant: Di Ammonium Phosphate Duration: 40days
Project: Improvement of De-dusting System
Guide: Mr. Bhaskar Datta, Senior Manager Fertilizer (H.O.D, DAP)
Description: The production capacity of plant was increased from 27 TPH to 42 TPH. This resulted in one of the problems of increased dust production collected by de-dusting system. With consideration of various attempts made previously to the plant to improve de-dusting system, few suggestion were proposed as use of re-cyclones, venturi scrubber, baffle chamber, cleaning process of cyclone and suction ducts.
