Thesis Title: Studies and Development of Chlorine Resistant Polymeric Blends and its application.
Abstract for Ph. D. Thesis:
Polymeric blends play an important role in wide range of application like low cost, chemical resistant, excellent mechanical, thermal, electrical and other properties. The present work deals with studies in high chlorine resistant polymeric multi-component systems i.e. binary blends. Various thermoplastic-elastomer and elastomer-elastomer blends have been prepared to study effect of blend composition chlorine resistance properties. In order to increase the chlorine resistant the radiation cross-linked polymeric blend also studied. Polymers that have been selected in present research work are ethylene-propylene diene elastomer (EPDM), Polypropylene Random Co-polymer (PP-R), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene butene block co-polymer (Engage).
