Fabrication and Characterization of Nanosilica Incorporated Epoxy/Glass Fiber Composites

The objective of this project was to find the effect of nanosilica particle inclusion in epoxy resin/ glass fiber composite
Nanosilica was treated with silane coupling agent and dispersed in an epoxy resin by ultrasonication and composite was prepared by resin film infusion technique
With the addition of 0.42 weight% nanosilica, compressive strength improved by approximately 20% with respect to neat epoxy/glass fiber composite
