Organization was seeking not only achieving the vision of becoming largest specialty packaging manufacturer in the world but also wants to sustain the position. Keeping this factor in mind MD of the company decided to set up a cell, which will fulfill this purpose, & he selected me as the right candidate who can direct the activities of this cell to cater the customer’s unique needs.
Product Development:
Introduced cost effective laminated tubes like, Millennium, Supernova and Champ,
Introduced value-added tubes like, EVOH and Nylon barrier with UV screen, received award – Star excellence award
Introduced extended nozzle tube for Industrial application as product differentiation, received two awards 1. Plasticon, 2. Star excellence award
Introduced a tube for pharma segment which can hold aggressive ingredients,
Introduced decorative laminate through printing and additives.
Introduced concept of holding liquid in tube with monitored dispensing mechanism.
Quality:
Started carrier with quality control Executive in this organization. It was an opportunity since organisation was not having any specialist in polymers at that time to sort out the repetitive problems.
Established documentation, system, testing procedures,
Brought down customer complaints by analyzing them and driving sustainable solutions.
Initiated drive to bring awareness on quality in organization
Set up a R & D lab, trained people for testing facilities, documentation,
ISO procedure for C & I, establishment of SOPs. Responsible of full compliance and achieving annual re- certification.
Creating Champions:
Fostered the creativity & innovation culture within the organization by conducting the C & I work shops and establishing an internal idea generation process. (Was able to achieve 175 ideas in six months time from employees & implemented 80 Ideas with the help of those individual idea originators.)

Continuous Improvement Process:
Introduction of Stage-Gate Process to select new material, process, system, product in organization to achieve “right first time”

Established supplier certification & scale down suppliers through this programme, which in turn helped organization in reduction of inventories.
Production
With rapid growth in business, management brought the QA concept to bring “zero quality issues”. I was shifted to production to establish QA Systems.

Increased productivity, machine efficiency, brings down wastages by analyzing & monitoring activities with the help of small team concept.
Brought the concept of interacting customers directly which helped in bring down the complaints.
Training:
Regularly did training of people on different aspects such material science, QC, Customer creation.
Worked on achieving the ISO certification.
Indian Business Development
The Indian toothpaste market was fully exploited and the organization wanted to expand in other applications like, Pharma, food, hair care. I was the obvious choice for this challenge.
It was a good opportunity to me to exploit my knowledge of polymers, filmmaking, lamination & business development. Organization was able to achieve the growth in these diversified areas by overall 20% annually.
This was done by extensive involvement of customers and developing products to meet their requirements.
