Title : “POM-TPU Blend Nanocomposite. A Comparative Analysis Of Mechanical, Thermal And Morphological Behaviour Of Blend And Nanocomosite”.

Objective : Developed Cost Effective Clay Added Blend Nanocomposite With superior Physico-mechanical Properties, Morphology & Thermal Stability By Adding Cloisite 30b To Blend Of Polyester Thermoplastics Polyurethane & Polyacetal Material).

Scope :
• The Project Was Implemented To Prepare Pom/tpu/clay Nanocomposites Using The Melt Compounding Method By Haake Torque Rheochord 9000.
• Sodium Montmorillonite, Cloisite 30b From Southern Clay Products Were Used As Reinforcement To Get A Comparative Result.
• The Nanocomposites Batches Of Same Composition From Haake Mixer Were Homogenized In Two Roll Mills, Collins Germany.
• Mechanical Tests Such As Tensile, Flexural And Impact Tests Were Carried Out In Utm Lloyds U.k. And Ceast, Italy.
• In This Process, Properties Of Both Treated & Non-treated Clays Were Studied & Compared Plus Dispersion Effect Of Organophilic Clay In The Matrix Was Analysed By X-ray Diffraction (xrd) & Transmission Electron Microscopy (tem) Method.
• Various Properties Such As Crystallinity, Tg Of The Nanocomposites Were Studied By Differential Scanning Calorimetry (dsc) Perkin Elmer U.S.
• The Thermal Degradation Was Studied By Tga, Perkin Elmer U.S.
• Melt Rheology Of The Nanocomposites Were Also Studied.
