To handle large PLC based engineering modules for the continuous POLY producing nylon-6 (polyamide) chips and of spinning plant, which draws them into high tenacity multi-filament yarn by vacuum spinning of capacity more than 10,000MT per annum.
To optimize process parameters for quality improvement, cost reduction, safety and environment.
To co-ordinate with different departments (production / suppliers / sales / logistics) for smooth shift operation and manage other supervisory jobs.
Along with the professional growth, I ensured that personal growth is achieved by developing leadership skills, problem solving ability, team working attitude, creative and innovative skills and working in a multi cultured environment.
Training
Awareness program of TQM (Total Quality Management) which includes DM (Daily Management) and 5S.
PROJETS and INDUSTRIAL TRAINING:
Course title: Masters in Polymer Science and Technology.
Project title: Studies of alkali soluble resins (ASR) as stabilizers in emulsion polymerization.
Details:
Two types of ASRs with a definite number average molecular weight were prepared using free radical solution copolymerisation and after their characterisation (acid value titration and GPC of ASRs) latexes were prepared using four different concentrations of these two ASRs as colloidal stabilisers with two different monomers.
The characterisation (gravimetric analysis, photon correlation spectroscopy, GPC) of the latexes was carried out to determine the effect of ASR concentration and composition, percentage conversion and particle number on the latex properties. Droplet disappearance data and the grafting of the ASRs during the reaction were also studied.
Course title: Bachelors in Chemical Technology.
Project title: Separation and Recovery of Nylon-6 from commingled materials like carpet waste.
Details:
Application oriented research project based on industrial plastic waste management.
The main objective of the research was the separation and recovery of Nylon from carpet waste using solvent based selective dissolution and anti-solvent precipitation technique.
Effective recovery of Nylon was achieved and the separated wool was used for making wet-strength paper and fiber reinforced plastic material. Applications and uses for all the materials involved were suggested to make it a complete recovery, regeneration and recycle process.
Complete scale-up of the lab work was carried out for a plant processing 100kg/day of carpet waste and the process was found economically profitable.
Course title: Bachelors in Chemical Technology.
Since April 2000 to May 2000
Completed in-plant industrial training with Bhansali Engineering Polymers Limited, India for a period of more than four weeks
ACHIEVEMENTS/PUBLICATIONS:
Shriram Institute for Industrial Research, New Delhi, India accepted my research work on separation and recovery of Nylon from carpet waste and I presented this paper at the international conference on “Plastic Waste Management And Environment”, New Delhi, India. I was given the “Conference Excellence Award” for my pr
Being an accomplished, multi skilled chemical engineering graduate with masters degree in polymer sciences, I'ld like to utilise my academic achievements and skills like team working attitude, continous desire to learn and improve, high motivation and ambitious nature with excellent communication, organisational & interpersonal skills to become a successful process engineer.
