Performing the electrical tests, ignition and flammability tests as per UL protocol
Assigning work to team members for day today lab activities as per UL certification status of the team members, business priority and job criticality
Maintaining the UL certification for all certified equipments and individual certification (reassessment)
Maintaining ISO 17025 certification of the lab
Training the new team members for UL certification in Glow Wire Ignition (GWIT-FI), Comparative Tracking Index (CTI) and all flammability tests
Documenting the work in the form of reports and send to the respective stakeholders
Reviewing all the UL related test reports generated in the lab as per the standard check list
Providing technical support to global teams for UL tests in various projects
Analyzing the customer requirements in various test aspects and guiding them to select the right tests for the right applications
Organizing the quarterly team reviews with the global technology leaders
Owning and maintaining the flammability hoods and electrical test instruments

Projects handled :
Lead an Operational excellence project for test time reduction by reducing the manual entry points in the system
Lead a six sigma project using DMAIC methodology to develop a new Relative thermal Index (RTI) method for polymer films. The stakeholders are global product development and marketing and UL agency team
Developed a new formulation for PET/PBT/PC blends to replace current FR with new FR additive that has better flammability properties
Developed a new material that has a very high glow wire ignition temperature for a specific application. This project required a clear understanding of the customer specification and our test capabilities. Achieved better GWIT with a balanced flammability and mechanical properties.

Future Goals

Seeking assignments in polymer testing/quality/team management with a reputed organization that will unleash my skills, broaden my opportunities and expand my knowledge.
