Title: PP/EPDM/Nano clay blend
Supervisor: Prof. Naresh Bhatnager
Objective: Preparation and study of PP, EPDM, Nano clay blend with MA-g-PP compatibilizer. Optimization of EPDM, MA-g-PP, Nano clay for application in automobile industry mainly in car bumper, instrument panel, dashboards in low to medium cost cars.
Optimize PP/EPDM blend for desire mechanical properties for impact strength, stiffness and other mechanical properties required for car bumpers and other automobile application by optimization of PP/EPDM and PP-g-MA compatibilizer by mechanical testing also study the behavior of blend.
Optimize the process parameters like shear, residence time, temperature for twin screw mixing of nano clay with PP/EPDM blend, also select process ( single stage direct mixing or double stage with master batch) for best dispersion.
Optimize nano clay and EPDM percent for best mechanical properties specially Impact strength and stiffness required for car bumper and other automobile application also study thermal, rheological, morphological characterization of blend.
Study the electrical properties, flam retardantcy, and water absorption of final composite and compare it with international regulations.
