Noteworthy Credits
(a) Instrumental in the installation and commissioning of plant of machinery in 105 days (present organization) and total project cost was 240 Mn rupees.
(b) Successfully designed and installed 1600 KVA HT Substation (using 800 KVA sanctioned demand in first stage) in 180 days and the total project cost was 20 Mn rupees. The saving of 6 lacs per month revealed & existing captive generating system kept as a stand by during the power cuts.
(c) Played a key role in achieving the following:
(A) Maintenanace Cost reduction by 60 % in 18 months and retained best practices
(B) Scrap rate reduction to 1.78 % from 3.85 % of Copper and 4.85% from 9.9% of PVC
(C) Enhanced plant capacity by two fold by installing one more extruder (designed and imported from Taiwan) within one year of operations
(d) Significant contribution from maintenance department in obtaining TS 16949 certification
(e) Visited SRILANKA for Installation, Commissioning work of all cable machineries of new cable plant at Homagama and completed the task in 90 days. The project cost was estimated Rs.300 Mn
(f) Plant re layout for copper section machines to reduce the material movement in the year 2001 32 Mts to 6 Mts of bunched copper movement
(g) Implemented FIFO rules in Raw Material, Work In Process and Final Goods
(h) Introduced Predictive maintenance since 2002 and achieved the down time below 1 % from 1.95 %
(i) Indigenously developed the more than 200 machine spares in order to reduce overdependence on foreign OEMs
(j) Attended and managed the audits at department level like TS 16949, UL 1007/1015/1230/1569, ISO 14001, PK Evaluation Audit by Head quarters, Japan and customer audits
