Job Profile:
Tooling budget preparation & get the approval from the management.
RFQ to be given to tooling vendors and/ OEM’s.
Costing & negotiation of plastics moulds & dies with tooling vendor’s and OEM’s.
Feasibility study for the plastic parts, Concept designing, Interface design
Source Identification, Cost Estimation and negotiation. Mold design approval. Attend the molding trials. Certification of the mold for production.
Monitoring the development of plastics moulds and dies through regular visits for timely delivery of parts.
Providing technical support to supplier during sample development.
Approval of plastics parts and moulds, analysis of assy. & testing Problems and get rectified the same before starting the mass production.
Benchmark tool cost with similar parts and set the target pricing for tools. Target cycle time for molding.
Interaction with R& D and Product Engineering during component styling and later during mould design. Give inputs regarding manufacturability, cost down & value engg ideas etc.
Discussion with Product development teams for manufacturing feasibility and new technology suggestions Work with raw material suppliers for new material development.
Lead production teams to achieve target on output, meeting lead time, capacity improvement, quality, safety and cost reduction and Manpower reduction
Finalize process based on part quality. Decide on inspection requirements, jigs, and gauges etc. using TPM methodology
