Project and Trainings:
One year research experience in Poly-olefins at Petrochemical & Polymer Division, R & D Centre, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Project :
Title :Studies on Structure-Property-Performance-Relationship of various Polyethylene Grades
Organization : Research & Development Centre, Indian Oil Corporation, Faridabad
Period: August, 2010 to July, 2011
Summary :
HDPE Raffia grades were collected from various manufacturers and industrial trials were done for raffia tape manufacturing.
HDPE-LARGE BLOW MOLDING grades were collected from various manufacturers and industrial trials were done for 220 liter L-ring shaped drum manufacturing.
The performance of the grades (including problems encountered in process and product manufactured during trials) were correlated with structure & properties of the grades using various polymer testing and characterization techniques like Melt Flow Indexer, Power Law Model, Capillary Rheometry, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis, Parallel Plate Rheometer analysis, High Temperature Gel Permeation Chromatography, Differential Scanning Calorimetry etc. The appropriate solutions were suggested for improving particular polymer properties of the grades to encounter the problems during processing.
LLDPE Blown Film Extrusion grades were collected along with respective mechanical properties from various manufacturers and differences in properties were characterized using techniques 13C-Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Crystallization Analysis Fractionation and Differential Scanning Calorimetry.

Project:
Title:A Quantitative Method for determination of Short Chain Branching Content (SCB) and Branching Distribution Index (BDI) in LLDPEs by DSC
Organization  :Research & Development Centre, Indian Oil Corporation, Faridabad
Summary:Successive Self Nucleation Annealing (SSA) technique was used. Using Origin 6.0 software and applying Multi-peak Gaussian Fitting, area under each peak was calculated; and SCB content and BDI were calculated. Values of SCB content obtained were compared with 13C- NMR results.
