Job Responsibility:
Heading the Day to day activity of CS2 refinery in Carbon-di-sulphide & Sulphuric Acid plant with a team of Executives & Sr. officers.
Production Planning & Control:
Achieving monthly scheduled production of assembly section with excellent quality, and minimum rejection as well as analyzing day to day production, trends of ratios and losses.
Managing overall production operations with a view to ensure timely accomplishments of production targets within the time and cost parameters.
Overseeing effective resource planning for optimizing man & machine utilization, reducing wastes for enhancing productivity and profitability.
Devising & effectuating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) as per documents and records.
Maintenance / Operations:
Scheduling and planning predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance jobs with key focus on spares availability and root cause analysis including budgeting and cost control activities.
Undertaking major shutdowns, de-bottlenecking of equipments, machinery as well as production line for enhancing production capacity.
Monitoring plans/schedules to start maintenance activities and achieve plant targets, implementing maintenance systems & keeping data for upgradation of plant.
Value Engineering / Process Development:
Overseeing process enhancement/ optimization initiatives with the view to increase efficiency of machinery by process modification and eventually reducing costs.
Analyzing problems and undertaking modifications, processes and change of Machines to enhance productivity and reduce product rejections/ rework.
Implementing continuous improvement projects through different systems and productionising new machines and new products in minimum time frame.
Quality Management:
Maintaining quality standards for incoming materials, ensuring stringent adherence to quality standards, norms & practices, identifying gaps and taking corrective action.
Monitoring adherence to quality standards of ISO 9002 thereby exceeding quality, cost and productivity targets for production line.
Overseeing quality control, dispatches, customer complaints & safety activity.
Material Management:
Managing the overall procurement of raw material like charcoal, sulphur, equipments & machinery and other project requirements by devising various sourcing strategies.
Budgeting and planning the funds for procurement and sourcing of materials ensuring optimum utilization of materials & maximum cost savings.
Steering strategic sourcing through identification of cost effective vendors/suppliers for procurement with an aim of reducing cost while improving quality & reliability.
Key Accomplishments:
Distinction of improving overall carbon-di-sulphide production by 30% from 3.8 MT to 5.0 MT/ furnace/ day.
Successfully optimised % capacity utilisation to improve consumption of raw material sulphur, charcoal, power and steam to minimise manufacturing cost of Carbon-di-sulphide and sulphuric acid.
Played a major role in reducing the Electric furnace power consumption ratio to 1050 KWH/MT from 1250 KWH/MT & auxiliary power to 150 KWH from 210 KWH of carbon-di-sulphide.
A stellar in bringing down the Carbon-di-sulphide refining losses to 1.8% from 4%.
Optimised air blower and utility equipment efficiency and brought down the sulphuric acid power consumption ratio to 45 KWH /MT from 65 KWH/MT.
