Polyimide coating solution was applied by hand layup technique on Glass Fabrics and Basofil/Nomex/Carbon Blended Fabrics. This polyimide coating solution was synthesised via two step method from Pyromelletic dianhydride (PMDA) and Oxidianiline (ODA) monomers in the molar ratio of 1:1 to form Poly(amic acid) using Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) as solvent in inert atmosphere at low temperature. Thereafter, suitable coupling agent 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) was added to this pale yellow coloured polyamic acid to prepare coating solution. A coating of this polymer is applied on Basofil/Nomex/Carbon blended fabric and glass fabric surfaces. The poly(amic acid) coating was thermally imidized by increasing temperature in steps from 80-300 C. The polyimide coated samples were tested for flammability, adhesion
