A $ 20 Billion US multinational Company named DUPONT does not need any introduction. The company has its operations established in various segments in India, of which Engineering Polymers Compounding is one of them. EP compounding unit started in Feb 1998, with the investment of US $6 m. Facility to compound Delrin (Polyacetal resin), Zytel (Nylon 66) and DuPont Nylon (Nylon 6). A world class facility with two twin screw extruder lines (Berstoff) has a capacity to compound 12000MT PA, and is being operated at 90% capacity minimum.
Achievements
Played a key role in the project team for the success ful start of Delrin Compounding facility in March 1998, and Zytel in 1999.
Worked as a Shift team leader comprising 7 members, from 1999 to 2001.
Promoted to Day Coordinator Quality in the year 2001
Completed Conc. Preparation process cycle time reduction project, where in preparation time reduced to 50 % of the total time.in the year 2000.
Qualified as ISO 9000:2001 internal auditor and facility safety auditor.
Qualified as authorized Forklift truck driver and powered pallet truck driver
Took project on unloading (Fluff) waste reduction program and avg. waste successfully reduced from 200kg per bulk container to 30 kg per container.
Suggested improvements in the Product lot numbering system.
The only employee to give the max. no. of suggestions and implement in the yr. 2001
Took Capital Project INR 15m on ware house capacity increase and successfully implemented within timeline.
Took Delrin line uptime improvement project using six sigma methodologies, Uptime increased and sustained at from 87.5 to 89.5% three years consistently after the project. Developed and excel sheet for uptime tracking, which is now a standard format being used to collect uptime data.
Continuously for three months received the Best House keeping team leader award as part of the short term program on plant house keeping improvement.
Played a lead role during ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14000 certification.
Core team member during implementation of SAP R 3 at DuPont Savli plant.
