I have handled liability [Current a/c] and asset-trade portfolio [working capital needs by way of Term Loans, Bill Discounting, Letter of Credit, Bank Guarantee and Cash Management Services etc] for SME (Small & Medium Enterprises).
The Job required me to recruit, train and motivate relationship executives [RE]. I had a team of 8 REs directly reporting to me.
REs used to make cold calls and fix appointments. We used to visit customer and understand customers’ nature of business, their existing banking relationships, their fund needs, then discuss various suitable products based on information collected to suit their fund needs, clearing doubts if any.
Final call on which product to be offered was decided after evaluation of financials against product criteria. If case was a GO through, RE used to complete further documentation.
I managed further follow up with final approving authority till disbursement. T
his way I nurtured good relationships with existing clients and developed new client base. We used to take references from existing satisfied customers and approach them for their banking [funding] needs, thus generating new business.
Thus we used our team efforts to create synergy among our actions to achieve the sales targets.
Achievements: We were ROMG topper in target achievement in Aug2005. We had disbursed first SBL loan in ROMG in Dec2005, since then we were ROMG leader in SBL disbursements. We did first CMS case in ROMG in Mar2006. We were leading ROMG in entries for Emerging India Award, which was a record in Nagpur’s history.
