Project Experience (Academic Level)
Repeated blood transfusion and serum ferrittin levels in thalassemia patients in Osmania University, Hyderabad. India.

Objective:
To measure the level of the ferritn level in Thalassemia patient as ferrittin level increases in thalassemia patient due to repeated blood transfussion & to see the effect of drugs like Kelfer and Desferal as a ferritin lowering agent.

Practical Approaches:
Ferritin level is measured from serum obtained from different patients using ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbant Assay) technique.

Conclusion:
Ferritn level is successfully measured by ELISA technique and it is also seen that those person had taken regular drug treatment has lower ferritin level.
