Pyrolysis of plastic waste to get value added products like diesel, gasoline, and combustion gas.
We designed and fabricated a reactor which can withstand high temperature of about 1000 °C and pressure up to 12 Mp with perforated inlet for nitrogen at the bottom and product outlet at the top. After pyrolysis the product i.e the pyrolytic oil was collected from the top. Two condensers were used to condense the pyrolysed gas coming out of the reactor. The main product got is wax and a liquid. The calorific value of the liquid got is 37.7 KJ/ g which is nearer to diesel (44 KJ/g).
