Development of new technologies to improve adhesion strength of
synthetic polymer fabrics with different coating polymers
(polyurethane, silicone, and polyolefins).
Development of new methods for improving adhesion strength of
metallic foils (e.g., copper, aluminum, and steel) with different
polymers (such as polyurethane, silicone, polyester, and polyimide).
Development of optical light reflective, flame retardant and
conductive polymer composite materials using mixed or doped ceramic
nanopowder (Nanocerox nanoparticles). Nanoparticle surface
functionalization for improving compatibility with polymer matrices.
Development and characterization of polymer nano-composites using
MolecularDiamonds or diamondoid hydrocarbons, found in crude natural
gas/petroleum oil. Studies on thermo-mechanical and optical properties
of polymer composites. Effect of functionalized diamondoids as
nucleating agents in semi-crystalline polymers.
Development and characterization of Polyhedral Oligomeric
Silsesquioxane (POSS)/Polymer nano-composites. Studies on thermo-
mechanical and optical properties of different POSS nano-
fillers/polymer nano-composites.

Development of environment-friendly bio-composites from wood fibers
and natural wood resin. Research on improving binding efficiency of
wood resin, and comparative studies using formaldehyde and isocyanate
based wood adhesives.
Development of natural fiber composites by resin transfer molding and
sheet molding compounding for automotive applications using wood,
hemp, jute and glass fibers and synthetic thermoset liquid resins
(epoxy, polyester, etc). Research on improving natural fiber and resin
interfacial strength, and water/moisture resistant properties of
natural fiber composites.
Mathematical modeling for predicting mechanical performances of
natural fibers/polymer composites.
