Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced New Product Development (NPD) Manager to drive innovation and lead the development of new products in the Rubber manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, overseeing product development, ensuring smooth transitions to manufacturing, and enhancing technological capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Market & Business Analysis:
Conduct market research in India and abroad to identify innovative and profitable product opportunities, including new technologies, materials, and processes.
Identify at least two new product opportunities per year aligned with business growth objectives.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to evaluate market demand and competitive landscape.

2. New Business & Product Development:
Drive new business development (NNB) in line with the company’s strategic business plan.
Lead and manage new product development (NPD) activities, ensuring all projects are completed as per customer timelines.
Ensure smooth and timely handover of projects from development to the manufacturing team.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure customer requirements and specifications are met.

3. Product & Process Engineering:
Conduct technical feasibility studies (TFC) and oversee tool and product design while taking full ownership of the development process.
Identify and address manufacturing concerns, working with production teams to enhance capabilities.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes to improve product quality and efficiency.

4. Project Management & Coordination:
Manage the internal and external coordination of all ongoing projects following a stage-gate process.
Ensure compliance with all quality and industry standards in new product development.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and risks, providing timely updates to stakeholders.

5. Exhibitions & Technical Shows:
Plan and participate in technical shows and exhibitions to showcase new product innovations.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to foster continuous innovation.
Network with key stakeholders, customers, and industry experts to explore potential collaborations.

Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of rubber / materials, manufacturing processes, and product design.
Expertise in market research, business analysis, and new product development.
Hands-on experience with tool design, feasibility analysis, and technology enhancements.
Excellent project management, cross-functional coordination, and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Rubber Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in new product development, preferably in the Rubber / Plastic manufacturing industry.
