Project Name: Use of Parthenium Fiber as a composite sheet formation
Duration: June 1990 to Jun. 2000
Team Size: 3
Client: Government Polytechnic College, Miraj, Maharashtra
Project Description:
Designed, Implemented and Submitted this project as our Final Year Diploma Project.
As natural fibers are abundant on the earth, we extracted the fibers from parthenium (Gagar, Gavat) & Jute Fibers and made a hybrid composite with glass fiber in this project. The result was we got an excellent strength as compared to only glass fiber. Also as the natural fiber are of too low lost to get & while the synthetic fibers are costly, by making a hybrid composite we correlated the two properties in one in this project. We got very good properties like dielectric strength; water permeability hardness, crack resistance. The resign used is epoxy & can also be used as a compatabiliser.

Future Goals

To seek a challenging position in the fields of polymer chemistry, polymer
engineering and advanced materials.

An engineering position in research and development, modeling and designing
new processes and equipment.
